Lady Manners School A-level results “thoroughly deserved”

Lady Manners School in Bakewell has celebrated strong A-level performances by its Year 13 students.

A total of 138 students completed their studies at the Shutts Lane school this year, with around half of all grades achieved in the higher categories of A*, A or B.

Headteacher Duncan Meikle said: “Lots of students have performed very well. The results overall are thoroughly deserved.

“Congratulations to students and staff who have had to work very hard to achieve these successes.”

Six students, Isobel Barber, Lydia Barber, Ella Bramwell, Freddie Higginson, George Poole and Rachel Ragg, achieved four Grade A or A* passes.

Another 14 students achieved three Grade A or A* passes within their full results: James Angove, Evelyn Baker, James Barrett, Tasmin Boam, Harry Booth, Alexander Bossuyt, Toby Bower, Jennifer Bristow, Oliver Cunningham, Ashleigh Goodall, Sophie Harman, Jack Morrison, Daniel Pledge and Megan Walker.

Six students, James Angove, Isobel Barber, Lydia Barber, Tasmin Boam, Ashleigh Goodall and Rachel Ragg, also gained A or A* grades in the Extended Project Qualification.

A school spokesperson added: “There are many other very good performances at a whole variety of levels. Lots of students have achieved the grades that they needed so that they are able to take their next important step.

“Successes have also included other qualifications as part of the overall achievement, like the Extended Project Qualification, Arts Award, and the Universities Award.”
