Derbyshire schools close due to snow: the full list

Heavy snow in Derbyshire has led to a number of schools closing to all pupils today (February 8).

Schools were already closed to most pupils due to lockdown, however the snow means they will now be closed for vulnerable children and children of key workers as well.

Pupils have been told to revert to remote learning while the closures are in place. Keep track on individual school’s learning arrangements on their websites.

Schools said that the reason for closure was the fact that weather made it unsafe to travel, and that they could not guarantee safety on the school grounds.

Killamarsh Junior School said that an insufficient number of staff were able to make it in to work due to the weather.

Gritters have been out in Deryshire over night. A6024 Holme Moss is closed.
