High Peak pub unveils new look after £164,000 investment
The pub, which is now run by Karen and Ian Rains, has undergone substantial redevelopment to the bar, lounge and ladies and gent’s facilities, as well as a full external re-decoration and new signage scheme. The new-look pub now boasts new furniture, lighting, fixtures and fittings.
The Roebuck opened on Friday February 10 with vocal trio The Acoustix entertaining customers with a range of pop and rock songs, followed by local guitarist and vocalist Mike Simpson, who played on Saturday, to continue the opening celebrations.

Karen, licensee of The Roebuck, where she has worked for the past eight years, said “I have always wanted to take The Roebuck on as my own.
“We looked at other pubs but there was always something not quite right. When The Roebuck came around, the timing was perfect and I decided to take the leap with a lot of encouragement from our regular customers.
“We have lots of exciting plans for the future. We will be launching a new tasty menu at Easter and we would like to increase our B&B business for customers looking to travel to the beautiful countryside. We are in the Peak District so it’s a prime spot for walkers and holidaymakers looking to enjoy the fresh air”.
Punch development manager, John Auld, added: “We’re delighted to invest in sites such as this.”
