Youngsters arethe art andsoul of musical

More than 100 children will perform in the dazzling family favourite, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The production by the students of Take Part....in the Art will be staged at New Mills Art Theatre on Saturday, December 12.

Charlie Hodgkinson of Chapel-en-le-Frith stars in the title role, supported by a large cast of youngsters, aged four to 18 years, drawn from New Mills and surrounding area.

Louise Coker, principal of Take Part....in the Art,said: “Choosing Joseph has given all our students an amazing opportunity to discover their artistic and creative potential.

“During rehearsals the cast of Joseph, some as young as four years old, have grown in confidence, which has encouraged teamwork and character development.”

Filled with youthful energy, the junior production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s legendary musical combines everything from country to calypso to rock ‘n’ roll in memorable numbers.

Joseph will be performed at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on December 12.
