Theatre company's tribute to first lady of the air

A tribute to Amy Johnson, the first woman to fly solo to Australia from England, will be performed at Taddington Village Institute on Thursday, April 12.

Amy was only 27 and had just eight months of flying experience when she made the pic trip in a Gypsy Moth aircraft called Jason.

During the Second World War she had a vital role as one of the many female pilots who delivered airplanes.

The performance starts at 7.30pm and is brought to Taddington by Live & Local.
