The weird sisters (or Three Witches) will be portrayed as three Hijras, who are part of a centuries-old “third gender” community of transsexuals, transgender, eunuchs and cross-dressers.

The curtain at Buxton Opera House will rise as the drag queens start to cook up a brew of treachery, ambition and passion, setting an Asian family off on a path of self-destruction.

Macbeth will be staged at the Opera House on March 10 at 1.30pm and 7.30pm.
