Spirit of Kinder Day at Edale celebrates free access to countryside

The Scottish model of free access to the countryside will be explored at the annual Spirit of Kinder Day event, celebrating Kinder Scout and the Dark Peak moors, on Edale on April 25.

The Scottish model of free access to the countryside will be explored at the annual Spirit of Kinder Day event, celebrating Kinder Scout and the Dark Peak moors, on Edale on April 25.

Also celebrating 50 years of the opening of the Pennine Way, the event at Edale Village Hall starts at 2pm.

Keynote speakers will include Chris Townsend, the British Mountaineering Council’s hill-walking ambassador and Dave Morris, former director of Ramblers Scotland.

Members of Woodcraft Folk will lead the singing of The Manchester Rambler.

Everyone is welcome to attend the free event.
