Show aids bid forcommunity base

A leading theatre company is coming to Tideswell to help Fountain Square restoration project.

New Perspectives perform the festive comedy He Wore A Red Hat in Fountain Square Church on December 12 in aid of the church’s Living Stones project to bring about a new base for community activity.

This fundraising idea was developed between Tideswell Community Players and New Perspectives, who have been performing in Tideswell for many years. The Players first brought New Perspectives to the village with Thank God For Cod in 2002 and have returned many times since.

The players left the URC Hall in 2009 when it closed. They are eager to support the redevelopment, which has an exciting space ideal for performance, and are already planning to help with lighting.

This performance will give playgoers a chance to contribute to the restoration.

New Perspectives executive director Sally Anne Tye said: “We are delighted to return to Tideswell. We know fundraising is vital: to develop and tour our work or to help support rural communities. The play will help Tideswell raise funds for the project.”

He Wore A Red Hat begins at 7.30pm. All tickets £12, with 20% of every ticket sold going towards the project. Tickets from Tideswell Post Office. Also www.ticketsource/tideswelltheatre or www.newperspectives.co.uk (small charge applies). Bookings on [email protected].
