life of Private Tommo Peaceful, a young soldier awaiting the firing squad at dawn.

Winner of the Blue Peter Book of the Year, Michael Morpurgo’s inspiration came from a visit to Ypres where he was shocked to discover how many young soldiers were court-martialled and shot for cowardice during the First World War.
Private Peaceful will be staged by Scamp Theatre at the Opera House on Monday, November 10, and Tuesday, November 11 at 7.30pm with a signed matinee performance on Tuesday at 1.30pm.
