Panto cast arrive for Jack and the Beanstalk at Buxton Opera House

The “Jack and the Beanstalk” company arrived in Buxton this week, all fired up and ready to begin rehearsals.

One of its performers, Sally Brooks, shares her panto diary with the Buxton Advertiser:

“I’ve been here for a while, working with the fantastic chorus of young dancers who bring so much energy and life to the show each year.

Last year I choreographed the pantomime but missed out on actually performing, so it’s great to be back on stage, playing the ditzy “Fairy Fabulous”.

We all came together to read the script and it sounded hilarious – there are so many talented comic actors in the cast.

This year we’ll have some extra challenges as the actors will have to compete with a gorgeous dancing cow as well as some giant special effects!

“Jack and the Beanstalk” is one of my favourite panto stories and we’ve got everything in place this year to make sure those magic beans really do their work.”

Jack and the Beanstalk opens at the Opera House on December 11 and runs until January 4. To book tickets, contact 0845 127 2190 or www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
