Kinder Children’s Choirs join forces with schools for concerts

The combined Kinder Children’s Choirs and recently recruited trainees will join with friends from schools in High Peak and Derbyshire Dales to entertain audiences at Buxton’s Octagon in the Pavilion Gardens.

Two choral concerts are scheduled, the first on Saturday, March 7, and again the next day Sunday March 8, both starting at 3pm.

The award-winning Kinder youngsters will sing alongside choirs from Hayfield, St Luke’s Glossop, St Mary’s New Mills, and Whaley Bridge primary schools on the Saturday afternoon.

Sunday’s line-up will include youngsters from primary schools in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Taxal & Fernilee, Simmondley and Tideswell.

Joyce Ellis, musical director of the Kinder Children’s Choirs, said that these will be exceptional displays of young talent, from across the region. “There’ll be wonderful singing with something for everyone: a programme of popular songs.”

Tickets are priced at £8, concessions £6 and under-18s £4. They are available from participating schools, Jean Forrest on 01663 743041 (evenings only), or Brooke-Taylors Solicitors in The Quadrant, Buxton.
