Katus in concert at Green Man Gallery, Buxton
There will be magic in the air at the Green Man Gallery, Buxton, on Sunday, May 3, when singer and composer Katus performs songs from her latest album, The Spring of 2022. The audience is promised a world mix of English, Czech, Polish, Russian and Mandinka.
This fifth album began its evolution in West Africa, where Katus became stranded when the ‘Festival of the Desert’ in Burkina Faso, where she was booked to appear, was cancelled because of the war in neighbouring Mali. Her path crossed with that of kora playing Yankuba Conteh and after playing for a month together, they recorded the album.
