Indie pop band Blossoms surpasses Drake and rises to the top of the charts with debut self-titled album

Indie pop band Blossoms has fended off competition from the likes of Drake and ELO to retain the top spot on the Official Albums Charts for a second week.

The Stockport band, who began rehearsing in a scaffolding yard owned by bassist Charlie Salt’s grandfather, went straight to No. 1 with their self-titled debut album following their August 5th release.

Despite an early lead in the mid-weeks from ELO and their record All Over The World - The Very Best Of, Blossoms took back control to defend their accolade.
