While most of the region’s theatres have had to cancel this year’s festive productions because of social distancing measures, a creative company has decided to spread the panto magic across the world via digital devices.

Harry Potter actor Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley in the franchise, is the first star name to be announced for Cinderella Live Online. Chris will play the Fairy Godfather in the production that will be screened in December.

Cinderella Live Online will enable viewers to take control of many of the usual reactions a theatre audience would. By pressing buttons that trigger the sounds in the studio, they get to interact as if they were in the theatre itself.

Co-producer and director of photography Ben McNeil said “The joy of this production is that we will be broadcasting live using the latest technology to give high end TV production combined with a brilliant theatre experience. It will be a very special occasion and a new way of working in the future. This production will look and sound wonderful on phones, tablets, computer devices and be stunning when cast to a TV.”

Cinderella Live Online has its world premiere on December 18 at 7pm and a UK matinee on Saturday, December 19 at 2pm.

Early bird tickets are available now, priced £9.97 and include a fun panto activity pack. To book, go to www.PantoLive.com
