Locations for the screenings will be in Cromford, Belper and Derby with tickets already on sale.
Transport company trentbarton, which is backing the screenings, will lay on additional buses to enable film fans to easily get to the valley locations and home again.
Dr Alex Rock, at Derby QUAD, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing outdoor cinema to the historic surroundings of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. These screenings will give people the opportunity to see the unique heritage of our county in a new light and have lots of fun too.
“QUAD has over ten years’ experience of running outdoor cinema events nationwide, but this summer I’m looking forward to hopping on the sixes and enjoying these screenings in our own beautiful county.”
