Art and architecture film is highlight of Wirksworth Festival’s digital first

The event is running on the festival’s Facebook channel and has as its centrepiece a film celebrating its annual Art and Architecture trail.

Commissioned from Gavin Repton and co-created by 30 artists in lockdown, the film is entitled Made in Wirksworth: the Virtual Art & Architecture Trail.

Filmed by each artist, the completed offering enables viewers to get a unique glimpse into their lives and work at home, in studios and in the landscape.

The weekend includes online performance arts, talks and interviews exploring contemporary art, how the town has responded creatively to the lockdown and a look at past festival highlights.

Content that is being shared this weekend will be available until September 19. 2020.
