Chapel Male Voice Choir are bringing Christmas cheer to the High Peak with their annual extravaganza.

This year’s concert, entitled Glad Tidings We Bring, will be held in the surroundings of the Palace Hotel, Buxton, on December 11 at 7.30pm.

Special guests will be the Burbage Band, one of the oldest brass bands in the world, having formed in 1861.

Old favourites and new pieces by well-loved composers such as John Rutter wil feature in the concert.

The choir was formed in 1918 by servicemen returned from the Great War. They have performed without a break for the past 90 years. The 40-strong membership is drawn not only from the High Peak but many miles around and rehearses at Dove Holes Methodist Church on Monday evenings.

Tickets for the concert on December 11 are priced at £8 (adults), £7 (concessions) and free for under 16s. They are available from the Palace Hotel reception, call 01298 813323 or pay at the door.
