ARE YOU brave enough to enter the darkness?

Castleton’s Peak Cavern is the inspiration and setting for a series of performances by Youth Arts Network High Peak on Friday.

Young people from Fairfield Dreamscheme and Buxton Opera House’s Youth Theatre have worked together on the story ‘Darkness’, which offers a challenging vision of the future - not for the faint-hearted.

Young people from College Road Children’s Home have created costumes to conjure up a futuristic, dystopian world, while others have been learning stage make-up and developing the sound design.

Performances take place at Peak Cavern on Friday at 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm, with free tickets available through the Buxton Opera House Box Office on 01298 72190.

The production will feature strobe lighting effects. Also, the paths of the cavern are uneven and sometimes slippery, so wheelchair users are asked to call Sophie at High Peak Community Arts on 01663 744 516 before booking.
