Fireworks. Carsington & Hopton’s annual fireworks display takes place at the Miners Arms, Carsington, 7pm for younger members of the audience, with the main display starting at 7.30pm. Advance tickets £4 (adults), £2 (children under 16), £10 (family, two adults, two children) available from the Miners Arms or Carsington Sports and Leisure at the reservoir; on gate tickets £5, £3 and £12 respectively. Free entry for under 4s.

Bonfire night. Fireworks display with funfair and Peak FM roadshow at Stand Road Park, Whittington Moor, Chesterfield. Gates open at 5pm, fireworks at 8pm. £1 per person, under-fives free.

Exhibition. Faces of the First World War, an exhibition which reflects the men who fought in the conflict, will be on display in the video room of Chesterfield Museum until November 30. Open 10am to 4pm. Free admission.
