Rock veteran, singer/songwriter John Otway, will perform his anecdotal and funny show at the Pavilion Arts Centre on Friday February 24, at 8pm.
Otway and his hard-hitting band are set to attack the Four Four Time 2012 Festival of Live Music and their set list with gusto, leaving plenty of room for anarchy, fun and age-defying acrobatics.
Dubbed by himself as ‘rock ‘n’ roll’s greatest failure after many unsuccessful attempts to produce a second hit to follow his 1977 classic Cor Baby, (That’s Really Free), Otway is sure to charm Buxton audiences with his usual self-deprecating banter.
A mere quarter century after he first found success, he managed to return to Top of The Pops and the charts with the wonderful disco pastiche, Bunsen Burner.
More recently, his Beware Of The Flowers Cause I’m Sure They’re Going To Get You Yeah was voted the seventh greatest lyric of all time in a BBC poll.
Tickets, priced £15, are available on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
