A NEW musical recounting the life of the 20th century’s ultimate movie legend and showbusiness enigma is set to hit the Buxton Opera House stage.
Blonde – the Life & Times of Marilyn Monroe will be presented, in partnership with the University of Derby’s Theatre Arts Department, at the Water Street venue on Friday September 14 and Saturday September 15.
Penned in 2011 by musician and composer Adam Howell and writer Paul Hurt, the show reveals the tragic and scandalous story of Hollywood’s original blonde bombshell.
Adored by her public; used, abused, confused and loved by many in her private life, Marilyn’s is the archetypal showbiz tale of life both behind and in front of the lens.
With cameo appearances from Frank Sinatra, Joe DiMaggio, Arthur Miller and a host of other influential characters and famous faces from the 50s and 60s, Blonde – the Life & Times of Marilyn Monroe is a scintillating look at the woman behind the legend.
Evening performances start at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
Tickets, priced from £9 to £13, are available from the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
