The Boyan Ensemble of Kiev are returning to Buxton to perform a concert in October.

Tickets are now on sale for a concert featuring the hugely popular Boyan Ensemble of Kiev.

The group’s 26 members are drawn from Ukraine’s top professional male choir and were a big hit during a performance in Buxton last year.

They will return to the town on Thursday October 16 as part of their UK tour, performing at St John’s Church at 7.30pm.

Robin Baldry, fundraiser for the church, said: “The Boyan Ensemble is a top international choir and it is a real privilege to have been able to secure a date for them to once again perform in Buxton.

“Their concert here last year sold out very quickly and I’m expecting this year’s to do the same so if you’d like to see the choir in October, get your tickets early. It’s an evening not to be missed.”

The ensemble perform sacred chants and songs of Ukraine and will feature a line-up of soloists including Valentina Ivanenko, the only female voice.

Tickets, priced at £20, are available from Buxton Opera House on 0845 1272190, online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk, or from Robin at robin.baldry@uwclub.net or 01298 24204.
