LIVE music will mark the launch of a new arts group in Chinley.

The talented Mayor and James will perform their toe-tapping mix of folk, swing, blues and classics at Chinley Community Centre on Friday November 11.

Simon Mayor and Hilary James have worked as presenters, songwriters and musical directors for BBC television. Simon is one of the world’s leading mandolin virtuosos and composers, as well as a fine fiddle player and guitarist. Hilary has been credited with having one of Britain’s finest voices, as well as an unusual taste in bass instruments - her mandobass is a real showstopper.

The performance, in conjunction with Live & Local, will mark the launch of Blackbrook Valley Arts, a group dedicated to bringing more arts performances to the local area.

The launch party bar and refreshments will be open from 6.30pm (ticket only), with the concert starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets for Hoagy and Hoedown are priced £8 (£6 concessions). To purchase tickets, or to be added to the mailing list, email info@blackbrookarts.org.uk.
