Timeless tale with 21st century gloss

AWARD-WINNING company, Pilot Theatre will present their vibrant new production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet at Buxton Opera House from Wednesday April 6 to Saturday April 9.

Pilot Theatre, who brought Lord of the Flies to the Opera House in 2009, are the perfect exponents of Shakespeare’s timeless tale of star-crossed lovers and dangerous rivalries.

With stunning visuals and a cutting-edge soundtrack by renowned composer Sandy Nuttgens, this contemporary version will inspire and enthuse audiences of all ages with exuberance, poetry and thrilling action.

With a modern-day set that will be filled with over 600 bunches of flowers, award-winning set designer Chloe Lamford has created a contemporary setting for this 21st century version of Romeo and Juliet to take place.

Oliver Wilson, who returns to Pilot having performed in This Child in 2008, will play the role of Romeo, and Juliet will be performed by Rachel Spicer, a recent graduate from RADA.
