AN ABANDONED quarry in Bakewell will be the venue for a theatrical experience that will take your breath away.
Peak District-based Babbling Vagabonds are bringing their new production ‘The Devil and the Three Golden Hairs’ to Holme Bank Quarry, on Holme Lane, as part of this year’s Bakewell Arts Festival.
The outdoor walkabout performance is an epic story about a Luck Child who is born to be King.
Joint Artistic Director Phil Coggins said: “Performing outside is always exciting. It has its challenges as you never know what the weather may do. But when you see the sun set over such a beautiful landscape it is a truly magical experience.”
Performances will take place from Wednesday August 10 to Saturday August 13, at 6pm and 8pm each evening.
All tickets for the Wednesday August 10 productions are available at a special price of £5.
Normal ticket prices for adults are £10 (pre-booked) and £15 (on the door), and £5 (pre-booked) £10 (on the door) for children.
Parking will be available at the Riverside Business Park, off the A6 Buxton Road, with a 15 minute walk to the quarry site.
