ACTORS playing animal characters, music, singing, audience interaction, including a puppet show and theatre magic, as well as some seed planting and one enormous turnip...
The Enormous Turnip and Other Stories, which opens at the Buxton Festival Fringe on Saturday, is a children’s story about a family doing its best to help each other.
Set in the yard of Farleywood Farm, home to farmers Jack and Jill, the production includes a host of animal characters: Charlie Cockerel, Liliana Llama, Shirley Sheep, Pippa Pony, Derek the Sheepdog and Penny Piglet.
The show is produced by Little GIANT productions, the creation of Kate Marlow and Sally Cancello.
Kate, from New Mills, who will be performing as Charlie the Cockerel, said: “Our aim is to create memorable, engaging, logical theatre shows that children of all ages will enjoy and for the experience to inspire and encourage creativity.”
The Enormous Turnip and Other Stories will be performed at Bath Road Church Centre, Buxton, on Saturday July 9, July 16 and July 23, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
The 45-minute show is suitable for children aged three and above, and there will be an opportunity to meet the actors in full costume and make-up afterwards.
Tickets, priced £4, are available by calling 01663 740993.
