TIDESWELL Theatre’s latest production is the perfect way to drive away those New Year blues.

New Perspectives Theatre Company’s Edinburgh Festival hit How Steeple Sinderby Wanderers Won the FA Cup stops off in Tideswell on Sunday January 22, at 7.30pm, as part of its very successful regional and national tour.

This laugh-out-loud adaptation of J L Carr’s tale will appeal to everyone, not just football lovers.

Could a humble village team really have taken on football’s finest and triumphed? When an enigmatic trainer with revolutionary theories, two of the best players ever to have disappeared from football’s top flight, and a chairman of Napoleonic ability all find themselves in the same place at the same time, it just might be!

A joyous tale of the unstoppable rise of the ultimate underdog, it is rivetingly retold in a funny and touching new one-man show.

It will be performed at The Old Grammar School, behind the church. Tickets, priced £9.50 and £7.50 (concessions), are on sale at Tideswell Post Office and Litton Shop.

Bookings can be made via theatre@tideswell.net or by calling 01298 871063.
