Stunning rework

BUXTON Opera House is welcoming London Classic Theatre with their adaptation of Ghosts, a Victorian drama filled with hidden passions and family secrets by master playwright Henrik Ibsen, on Monday June 13 at 7.30pm.

Ghosts is a shocking critique exposing the realities that lay behind the unspoken façade of Victorian etiquette and family values.

The piece caused scandal and outrage when it was first published in 1881, with Victorian society not ready to acknowledge such ‘Gross, almost putrid indecorum’ actually occurred.

Director Frank McGuinness brings this 19th century piece dramatically back to life with a stunning reworking.

Tickets, priced £13.50 with discounts available, are available from the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
