Visitors to Buxworth will be able to step back in time when the village welcomes an array of traction engines and vintage vehicles at a special event next month.
The Buxworth Steam Party, to be held on Saturday October 6 and Sunday October 7, starting from noon, will have attractions at both the Navigation Inn and Buxworth Memorial Hall.
Food will be available at both venues over the course of the weekend and there will be live music at the Navigation Inn on Friday and Saturday evening from 9pm and at the Buxworth Memorial Club on Sunday afternoon.
There will be a variety of traction engines, vintage cars, lorries, motorbikes and tractors on display, plus a children’s fair.
Due to the limited parking that will be available a water bus will be operating from Whaley Bridge to Bugsworth Basin and a traction engine and trailer will be running between Whaley Bridge Station, Buxworth and Chinley Station.
It is hoped guided walks will be able to take place around the historic basin, weather permitting.
