Comedian Jasper Carrott and friends will celebrate all things ‘Brummie’ with a fun new show, packed full of music, laughter and anecdotes.

With 13 nights already sold out, Made in Brum is proving a big hit in Midlands venues and now it comes a little further afield to share the fun at Buxton Opera House on Thursday May 23, at 7.30pm.

The evening will boast a collaboration of six entertainers who all hail from Birmingham: Bev Bevan, Trevor Burton, Geoff Turton, Joy Strachan-Brain and Danny King, plus The Bev Bevan Band.

One of the UK’s best-loved comedians, the event is Carrott’s first foray back into live stand-up in over a decade, fresh after his success with BBC’s honorary programme The One Jasper Carrott which aired in 2012. But how many knew him as the manager of The Little People, and part-time roadie for Ronnie & The Renegades and Denny Laine & The Diplomats?

Bev Bevan has sold over 100 million records around the world with The Move and the Electric Light Orchestra and Black Sabbath, while Trevor Burton of The Move regularly jammed with Jimi Hendrix, and Geoff Turton of The Rockin Berries had a number one hit in the USA under the name ‘Jefferson’.

Danny King was the city’s first pop star, while Joy Strachan-Brain has been the lead singer with one of Birmingham’s top bands since the 60s. ‘Quill’ are regarded as one of the UK’s finest Celtic rock bands.

The evening promises tunes that you used to dance to in the 60s and 70s, from not only Brummie legends like Spencer Davis, The Moody Blues, The Move and ELO but also great songs made famous by Buddy Holly, The Righteous Brothers, Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield and Hendrix.

Tickets, priced £26, are available on 0845 127 2190 or at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
