A smash-hit tribute to one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time is preparing to light up the Buxton Opera House stage.

Now in its fourth year, Stage Acts Entertainment’s An Evening of Dirty Dancing makes its debut at the Water Street venue on Thursday June 12, a fully choreographed, highly interactive celebration of the music from the iconic film.

Matthew Mckenna leads the cast direct from London’s Queen smash hit We Will Rock You and is joined by Tricia Adele Turner who recently played Vivienne Kensington in Legally Blonde.

Mckenna’s theatre credits include Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Electra in Starlight Express and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.

The production also features Matt Cox, James Williams Davies, Laura Ellis, Victoria Rachael Mccabe and Grace Reynolds.

Producer Paul Spicer said of the production: “The atmosphere is always electric. There’s something about this soundtrack that ignites even the dullest of days.

“We totally encourage our audiences to dance and sing and immerse themselves in the summer of ’63, and it seems they can’t get enough of it.

“This is a multi-award winning soundtrack steeped in nostalgia. I challenge anyone to come along and not have a fantastic time.”

Boasting the greatest movie soundtrack of all time, the fast-paced musical features songs including Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me, Hungry Eyes and the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.

An Evening of Dirty Dancing comes to Buxton Opera House on June 12, at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £17.50 and £19.50, are available from the box office on 0845 127 2190 or online at
