REAL-LIFE heroes turned popstars The Soldiers are set to serve-up a real musical treat when their national tour calls at Buxton Opera House.

Corporal Ryan Idzi and Sergeants Richie Maddocks and Gary Chilton created history by being the first group of serving members of the armed forces to hit the British pop charts.

They are soldiers first and foremost, having served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait.

They are real-life heroes, have several medals between them and can be called up at any time.

Their two top-ten albums, Coming Home and Letters Home, released in the space of a year, exceeded sales of 800,000 and have helped raise over half a million pounds for army charities.

The Soldiers have performed for Her Majesty The Queen at the Royal Variety and at The Festival of Remembrance two years in a row.

l Tickets for The Soldiers at Buxton Opera House on Friday January 27, at 7.30pm, are priced £20.50 and £22.50, and can be purchased through the box office on 0845 127 2190 or online at
