PRODUCERS of the Buxton Opera House pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are looking for young dancers.
Children under-16 will be chosen to play the roles of village dancers and dwarfs, and choreographer Sally Brooks will be holding auditions at the Pavilion Arts Centre, Buxton, on Sunday August 21. The timings are as follows: 11am-noon, dancers and dwarfs between 4ft 5ins and 4ft 7ins; noon-1pm, dancers and dwarfs over 4ft 7ins to 4ft 9ins; 1.30pm-2.30pm, dancers only, over 4ft 9ins to 5ft 2ins; 2.30pm to 3.30pm, dancers only, over 5ft 2ins.
Applicants whose 16th birthday falls on or before January 1 will be unable to audition.
Smaller children will play both villagers and dwarfs. Dwarfs are non-speaking roles and the performers will wear full body suits.
Applicants must be available for rehearsals from the evening of Friday October 14 and throughout that weekend, then for an intensive period of evening and weekend rehearsals from Saturday November 19 to Wednesday December 7.
There will be daytime rehearsals from Thursday December 8 up to the first public performance on Saturday December 10.
Thereafter, the chorus will be split into two teams who will share performances until the show closes on Sunday January 1.
A nominal fee will be payable for each public performance as a contribution towards expenses.
Anyone wishing to audition for the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs chorus can request an application form from Pat Russell at Buxton Opera House on 01298 72050.
