AMAZING illustrations produced by Peak District primary school pupils went on display at The University of Derby’s Devonshire Dome in Buxton this week.

The pupils from Edale, Castleton, Litton, Great Hucklow and Peak Forest primary schools, inspired by Katie McCall during a series of workshops, have seen their work displayed alongside the local artist at Cavendish Nadfas’ Small Schools Art Exhibition 2012. The display, which is open to the public, finishes on Thursday.

As well as having their work mounted, the pupils have each received a certificate of participation.

This is the first year that Cavendish Nadfas, an arts lecture society which meets monthly in Buxton, has run this project and, if successful, hope to repeat it in future years.

One of the society’s aims is to encourage the understanding of arts and crafts in young people.
