Have your say

AFTER a brief weekend visit to our families, cramming lines into our heads while sorting out the washing, we started the second week very excited about the prospect of working in the beautiful Buxton Opera House.

But we were also nervous, as we knew that our first performance was on the Saturday… help!! That kind of excitement is the joy of theatre, though: something you just don’t get in television, especially in a long-running show.

We now prepare to stagger through the panto without scripts in our hands: it’s weird to think we only started a few days earlier and we are already so far ahead.

Everyone is getting on well and we feel we’ve known each other for ages.

That’s the thing about actors, you become so used to moving around from job to job (especially in theatre), you instantly form friendships.

What a great job I have! Oh no I haven’t! Oh yes I have………!

l Kate Anthony plays the Wicked Queen Belladonna in Channel Theatre Company’s presentation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which runs at Buxton Opera House until Saturday January 1, 2012.

Tickets for the show are priced from £15 to £19. Discounts are available.
