Not to be missed

FOLLOWING last year’s sell-out concert, Gordon Stewart of the BBC’s Songs of Praise returns to play the magnificent 1914 Binns organ at Providence United Reformed Church in New Mills.

The organ console will be visible on a giant screen at the Mellor Road church, during the concert on Saturday July 2, at 7.30pm.

Gordon will be accompanied by Tom Osbourne, the brilliant young trumpet player whose concert last year attracted a large and enthusiastic audience. This year, Tom is presenting a programme which ranges from Baroque concertos on piccolo trumpet to virtuoso 19th century variations on cornet.

Tickets, priced £8, are available from Priscilla’s Cards, Market Street, New Mills, or on the door.

Refreshments and a licensed bar will be available.
