Children at New Mills Primary enjoyed a “French Day”.
The year five pupils came to school dressed as a Parisian (many with moustaches!) and began the day with ‘le petit dejeuner’ of croissant or pain au chocolat.
They answered the register in French, said what they wanted for dinner in French, wrote a postcard home in French as if they were in Paris and did a dot to dot of the Eiffel Tower which goes up to 1000! They then walked to the post office to post the cards and learn the names of buildings that they passed on route! It was a very enjoyable day for them all and the school hope to repeat it in the future.
