New acoustic duo at New Inn

New acoustic act The Hootles will be playing live at Buxton’s The New Inn tonight (Friday), from 9pm.

The duo of Matt Wolff (vocals/harmonica) and Johnny Lexus (guitar/vocals) will be covering classic songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s, mixed with the very best of today’s leading singer/songwriters.

With numerous bands, stacks of recordings and hundreds of gigs under their belts, they have performed everywhere from The Marquee to The Royal Albert Hall. As session musicians they have worked with Elbow, Paul Heaton, Stephen Fretwell and many others.

Expect clever re-workings of amazing songs from Squeeze, The Hollies, Jake Bugg, XTC, The Who, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Traffic, Joe Jackson, ELO, John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Weller, Big Star, David Bowie, 10cc, Small Faces, and more.
