AFTER their warmly acclaimed 20th birthday celebration concert at Chatsworth House last month, the award-winning Kinder Children’s Choirs of the High Peak appear in a series of Christmas concerts in December.
The concert choir is in fine form after their Chatsworth performance before an invited audience which included Princess Alexandra and was hosted by the Duke of Devonshire and the choirs’ President, the Duchess of Devonshire.
Founder-Director Joyce Ellis said: “We were absolutely delighted with the many warm comments received after the sold-out concert at Chatsworth.
“The evening was a really memorable occasion and a worthy climax to the choirs’ 20th anniversary year, an experience that the young choristers will remember for the rest of their lives.”
The season of Christmas concerts will include a performance on Saturday December 10 by the Concert Choir, Youth Choir and Kinder Junior Singers performing at Chapel-en-le-Frith Methodist Church, Town End, at 7pm.
The family Christmas concert at The Octagon, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, takes place on Sunday December 18 at 4pm featuring the combined choirs, Father Christmas and an appearance by the celebrity donkey Eeyore. Tickets for these concerts are available from Jean Forrest 01663 743041.
On Monday December 19, the Concert Choir performs as guest artists at The Glory of Christmas concert promoted by the Raymond Gubbay organisation at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Bridgewater Hall box office.
This Summer the choir promoted the High Peak in France during a ten-day concert tour of Normandy.
