THE ANIMALS & Friends, with special guest Steve Cropper, will be back at Buxton Opera House on Tuesday August 30, performing a catalogue of their smash hits including The House of the Rising Sun.

Original members John Steel & Mickey Gallagher (The Blockheads, The Clash, Paul McCartney), plus John E Williamson (Titanic) and Peter Barton (Mindbenders, Boomtown Rats) will play their greatest hits: House of the Rising Sun, We’ve Gotta Get Out Of This Place, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, It’s My Life, Bring It On Home To Me and Boom Boom.

Joining them onstage is legendary American blues guitarist Steve Cropper, who over the course of his illustrious career has been part of Booker T & The MGs and backed Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and Rufus Thomas, before finding cinematic and musical fame as a member of The Blues Brothers Band.

In 2003 Rolling Stone magazine named him among the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time.

The performance begins at 7.30pm.

Tickets for The Animals and Friends, priced £19 and £21, are available from the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or online at
