ONE OF the most talented acoustic guitarists in the world is coming to Buxton Opera House.
Martin Simpson will be appearing on Wednesday August 31 with his band – a host of gifted and well-known artists in their own right.
Simpson, who offers a unique mixture of American and British music in his repertoire, has twice won BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Musician of the Year and Album of the Year and also for Best Original Track in 2008.
He will be joined by a band of musicians including Folk Singer of the Year 2010 Jon Boden, Andy Seward, who plays double bass with Kate Rusby’s Band and with John Tams among many others, BJ Cole, a unique innovator on the pedal steel guitar, and drummer and percussionist Keith Angel, well known for his work with Anglo-Indian outfit The Angel Brothers.
Tickets for the performance, which begins at 7.30pm, are priced at £13 and £15. Call the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or buy online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
