A LECTURE recital about English poet and playwright John Drinkwater’s travels, told in verse and music, is to be presented at the Buxton Festival Fringe.
The Selfmade Music presentation will take place at Buxton Methodist Church on July 6, 7 and 8, between 3pm and 4pm.
It features unique photos from his private collection, of Drinkwater with Joyce, Elgar, Hardy, Shaw, Wells, etc, and sumptuous music by Elgar, Strauss, Ireland and Gershwin.
International opera singer Susie Self and cellist Michael Christie present a delightful literary snapshot of Georgian England.
