BUXTON Museum and Art Gallery is holding two events as part of the Derbyshire Literature Festival.
60 Glorious Years of Fiction with Deidre O’Byrne will be held on Friday May 11, between 6.30pm and 8pm.
Join Deirdre in celebrating 60 glorious years of Queen Elizabeth’s reign through writing across the decades.
Deirdre teaches literature at Loughborough University and is chair of Nottingham Irish Studies Group.
This is a Museums at Night event.
Also at the gallery, on Sunday May 13 between 2pm and 4pm, is Around the World in 80 Books with Oxygen Book.
Based on their acclaimed city-pick series, Heather Reyes and Malcolm Burgess from Oxygen Books will take people on an action-packed trip around the world.
The journey starts in the City of Literature Dublin, passing through London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, St Petersburg, Venice, Istanbul, Tokyo, and ends up in that city of cities, New York - with plenty of audience participation on the way and the chance to win city-pick titles.
Tickets for both events, priced £5, are available from Call Derbyshire on 08456 058 058 or at any Derbyshire Library.
