Britain’s favourite literary lunatics, LipService, are celebrating their 25th birthday by reprising their cult Bronte spoof Withering Looks. The show comes to Buxton Opera House on Wednesday February 9, at 7.30pm.
Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding are delighted to dust off their crinolines, wear flattering bonnets and sit at rained-lashed windows in a pale and decorative manner once again.
Withering Looks takes an ‘authentic’ look at the lives and works of the Bronte sisters – well, two of them actually, Anne’s just popped out for a cup of sugar. Peopled with many of the characters we know and love, and some quite frankly that LipService have made up, Withering Looks is an irreverent theatrical treat to savour.
Tickets, priced at £12.50 and £14.50, are available on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
