MIKE Harding’s hilarious comedy Fur Coat and No Knickers is coming to New Mills Art Theatre.
The play tells the story of the events leading up to the wedding of Deirdre Ollerenshaw, a young girl from a working class family who is marrying Mark Greenhalgh, the son of a wealthy businessman and local councillor.
Follow Mark and his mates on the disastrous drunken stag night, through to the chaos of poor Deidre’s wedding the very next day, when most of the congregation are suffering from massive hangovers – including the priest!
This roaring comedy comes from the multi-talented Mike Harding - famous for his live concert tours, television and radio appearances, and his writing talents covering comedy, poetry, plays, songs and short stories.
Fur Coat and No Knickers will be performed by New Mills & District Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society at the Jodrell Street theatre from Thursday June 7 to Saturday June 9, at 7.15pm each evening. Paula Waddacor makes her directorial debut at The Art Theatre, taking on the challenge of bringing Harding’s razor sharp script to life.
Tickets, priced £10, are available from the Box Office on 01663 742951, on Sundays in person between 1pm and 2pm, or on weekdays at A Allen & Son Accountants, Union Road, New Mills. The production contains adult themes.
