With over a million record sales under his belt, DJ and producer Dave Pearce has been at the forefront of the UK dance scene for many years.

He’s played all the major clubs and UK festivals, and held a ten-year residency at Eden in Ibiza.

And on Friday, he’ll be bringing the Ibiza vibe to Buxton when he plays at the Level 2 nightclub on Scarsdale Place.

Since taking up DJing in his teens, Dave Pearce has presented the UK’s most popular radio shows on BBC Radio 1, BBC6 music, BBC Radio 2, hosted his own dance shows on ITV1, MTV and Viva and sold over a million compilation albums in the UK alone.

In the last year, he has played the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, and launched a new weekly Saturday night UK dance show on BBC Radio 2, where guests have included Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Disclosure, Duke Dumont and the Pet Shop Boys.

Career highlights include playing the midnight set to 45,000 at the Millennium Dome in London in 2000 and creating and presenting BBC Radio 1’s Dance Anthems and achieving its highest ever audience figures.

He’s also had a string of top ten hits on his record label Nulife, including massive dance floor anthems Ian Van Dahl - Castles in the Sky and Rui Da Silva - Touch Me.

Organised by Dance Society, Friday night’s event will also feature local DJs Simon Paul, DJ Leostar, Jaybox and DJ Manparris alongside DJ Nik Dee, from Stoke-on-Trent.

Simon Paul has previously DJ’d on Key 103 and High Peak Radio as well as being a resident DJ in the nightclubs of Manchester. He is currently working on several remixes of classic tunes that will get the crowds going, the first of which is getting its debut airing on Friday night.

Tickets are priced at £10 in advance and £12 on the door. Buy tickets from The Tradesman’s Entrance on Scarsdale Place, Muzik and More, on Buxton Market Place, and Divine Trash in the Cavendish Arcade, or online at http://dancesociety.co.uk/event/565/. The event runs from 9.30pm to late.
