BUXTON Opera House will be transported back to the 1940s when Ray McVay presents one of the world’s greatest big bands – The Glenn Miller Orchestra – on Saturday at 7.30pm.

The spellbinding evening will feature the fabulous harmonies of The Moonlight Serenaders, the sublime vocals of Catherine Sykes and Colin Anthony, as well as swinging jazz of The Uptown Hall Gang.

Original arrangements of classic wartime chart toppers include: In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, Little Brown Jug and Tuxedo Junction.

And, in a special treat for lovers of big band music, there’s a tribute to the big bands, including Ted Heath.

Tickets, priced at £16 and £18, are available on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
