Macbeth performed in the depths of Pooles Cavern, Buxton

BUXTON’S Poole’s Cavern is the extraordinary setting for a series of thrilling, hour-long promenade productions of one of Shakespeare’s most powerful plays.

Audiences enter the belly of the earth for a truly unique, up-close experience of Macbeth, being performed throughout this week by production company Butterfly for the Buxton Festival Fringe.

The promenade performances see the actors walk with the audience through the entire cave system.

Macbeth is being performed at Poole’s Cavern, Green Lane, Buxton, from Monday July 11 until Friday July 15, at 6pm, 7.15pm and 8.30pm each evening. Not suitable for children under the age of eight.

Tickets, priced £10 per person, are bookable online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk or by calling the Box Office on 0845 127 2190.
