Festival for £5

UNDER-30s can attend any event at this summer’s Buxton Festival for just £5.

More than 100 arts events, featuring top class opera, concerts, recitals and literary speakers, will take place during the Festival, which runs from July 9-27, and all of these are accessible to young people thanks to the £5 initiative launched.

Glyn Foley, Buxton Festival Chief Executive, said: “The ‘Festival for a Fiver’ offer was designed to open new doors for students and young people who have never tried opera before because they’ve been put off by the price.

“The offer has proved popular so far, and we really hope more people will give it a try this year as we’d love to welcome new audiences to the Festival in 2011.”

All seats are now available to under-30s for £5, including top price opera tickets, usually £57, subject to availability. Book at Buxton Opera House on 0845 12 72 190. These tickets cannot be purchased online. Proof of age required. To find out more go to www.buxtonfestival.co.uk or call 01298 70395.
