THE INTERNATIONAL treasure that is the comedian, novelist, actor and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig will be back at Buxton Opera House on Tuesday September 11, at 7.30pm, delighting audience members with her wit and humour.
Long-standing host of Radio Four’s News Quiz and Excess Baggage and regular QI panellist, Sandi will be touring a brand new, uniquely witty evening of stand-up, stories and fascinating facts.
Sandi has embarked on this new UK solo tour to celebrate the publication of her latest novel Valentine Gray, of which signed copies will be available on the night.
Born in Copenhagen, she began her comedy career at Cambridge University, where she wrote and performed in the first all-woman show at the Footlights.
Sandi performed at the opening night of The Comedy Store in London and was part of the famous improvisational comedy team, The Comedy Store Players.
She has appeared on a variety of TV programmes including Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You. As well as touring Sandi is currently writing several commissions, both drama and comedy, for Sprout Pictures.
